The Start of Civilization in Gameier
It was the 21st century on Earth. Azril, a brilliant scientist, and his assistant Lacan made an important discovery: a dark stone gate structure with teleporting ability hidden somewhere in Egypt.
Backed by U.S. Government, Azril and his research team are on the mission to develop a system allow human to made first contact with living organism from another world. First discovery found a world similar to Earth. An untouched rainforest, greeny land full of florists and faunas, named Project “Gameier”. Azril called the world "Gameier", because their interaction with alienate world started with remote controlled machine roaming in it. Gameier eventually became the official name of the world and project.
In a few months time, they learned that Gameier was a planet just like Earth. It has two moons, and it circles another fiery planet similar to Sun. The oxygen level was slightly lower than on Earth, but everything else suggested human species will flourish on the planet.
During a fateful day, an earthquake erupted create an unusual activity. The Gateway, usually activated by direct electricity input at the top of the gate structure, was powered up even though the team cut off the power during the earthquake. The mountain shook even more violently, and then disappeared from the face of Earth.
The whole mountain was teleported into planet Gameier. Geared with 21st century knowledge, Azril and Lacan deduced it was impossible to power up the gate without diesel generator. The scientific split into two groups, and ventured into planet Gameier. Azril led one group to the north, and his assistant Lacan led another group to South.
After the event, they agreed to have calendar with abbreviation of “A.E.” which stands for After Earth, and the year the group split will be the first year in the calendar, A.E1.
The discovery of Gateways
A.E100, A hundred years had passed since then. The Gateway and the mountain were long forgotten. From small families grew into tribes. Azril's descendents at North retained most of Azril's original intelligence traits lead by Abel (grandchildren of Azril). They made traps to hunt animal and they studied the plants. They also created a map listing habitats of various animals & herbs location, to make their hunting more efficient. The Northerners, while smarter, lacked the physical prowess to travel further.
Lacan's descendents at South on the other hand, was a more instinctive tribe, lead by Lucius (grandchildren of Lacan). They hunted with speed and strength, hunting victims of animal way larger than them. While the Northerners remained petite, the Southerners grew stronger and bigger because of their diet. However, they lacked of strategic planning to use strength effectively.
In 32nd day of AE100, both tribes clashed again in hunting for foods and all the sudden disaster struck: an asteroid entered the atmosphere of planet Gameier, and flew across the sky like a giant fireball. The impact threw large amount of dust into the sky, destroying all forests and life in their path. Day became dark like night even though it was noon. Plants died, and the animals that feed on them died too. Food source were reduced drastically.
At the aftermath, a land replaced by 100 kilometer wide impact crater was once a mountain. On these ground, stood at least a dozen gate structures, The Gateway. Land surrounding the Gateways was full of purple colored glowing asteroid fragments, and they generated a magnetic field which mysteriously powered each of the Gateways.
From scriptures written by their grandfathers about the Gateway, Abel and Lucius knew it was the only way to survive, also a way back to Earth. They promised each other to put their differences aside forever, and work together in finding a solution.
The Epic Battle in Gameier
All knowledge gained from each of these worlds beyond the Gateways, was to be shared equally to save the planet. From the world full of huge green skinned creatures that called themselves “Orc”, or fairies dancing elegantly by the name of “Elves”, they acquired technologies and knowledge not available on planet Gameier.
The Northerners devotionally used everything they learned to flourish the planet once again. The Southerners did too at the beginning, but then they were addicted with all these technologies and knowledge. Once armed with their well built bodies, they can easily aquire more of these by conquer other planets, starting with planet Gameier.
Fueled by a wild ambition, Lucius assembled his army at the outskirt of Gateways. Using a skull artifact found in one of the worlds beyond the Gateway, Lucius turned the Southerners into mindless fighting zombies. At the expense of human nature, their strength doubled from before.
Paired with weapons and armors they secretly obtained based on foreign technologies, they effortlessly killed large number of Northerners residing at the Gateways. After that, Lucius led them marching towards the Northern City, located at North end of the planet.
Abel and two of his most trusted companion, Nestor and Cassius, were not around the Gateways when it happened. When they returned to planet Gameier, they saw their fellow tribesmen lying cold on ground in pools of blood.
Although shocked, Abel was able to tell what was going on: the Northerners are under attack by Southerners, and they were heading to the Northern City. Abel ordered Nestor and Cassius to return to the Northern city as fast as they could, while he looks for help from worlds beyond the Gateways. Quickly, he gathered a dozen of volunteered fighters, by warning them the evil doings of Lucius and his Southerners. Abel then led them into Gameier, to the Northern city’s rescue.
When Abel and the fighters reached the Northern City, an epic battle was taking place. The Southerners were advancing at a fast pace, razing buildings and looting goods. The Northerners were overpowered.
At the sight of the battle, Silvia the Winged Elf archer immediately jumped into action. She was so fast and accurate in her aims, she alone pinned a portion of Leah’s army into a corner with multiple arrows shot at once. Paxa the mighty Orc warrior bravely charged into another group of Southerners, knocking them out with his enormous battle hammer. Amras the Magicians and Kalin the Priests used their magical power to both damage the enemies and heal their wounded comrades.
These fighters’ interference pushed the Southerner back to where they started. Under Abel’s lead, they made Leah’s Southerners retreated all the way back to the Gateways, and eventually back to the Southern city.
The New Beginning
The Northerners were victorious, but they were bruised as well. Fearing a counter attack from the ambitious Southerners, the fighters Abel bring into Gameier established a base at the Gateways. They would patrol the area, or just hang around and share stories from their own world.
A week passed, and the Northerners regained their composure. As a token of appreciation for what the fighters did for the Northerners, Abel offered them a lifetime of favors.
Silvia the Winged Elf archer, nominated as the fighters’ captain during their stay in planet Gameier, made a counter offer instead. “We all met each other because of you leading us through the Gateways. Why not you thank us by making the Gateways a permanent meeting point of all worlds?” She said.
Abel agreed immediately. The fighters volunteered to stick around and help. He gave these fighters a title of honor – Masters of Gameier. Then, he put Cassius in charge of daily operations in Northern City, and Nestor in charge of constructing a trading market at the Gateways.
The Gateways will be filled with a large array of resources from every world, ranging from the hunting map created by the Northerners to scriptures with historical records. With the trading market soon to be completed in 2 weeks, and visitors from various worlds visiting the Gateways, Abel was confidence that planet Gameier will be a better world than before.
At least until the next assault by the Southerners.
