Introduction to Socket
- You will learn to use soulstones to increase stats of an item that have a socket.
- Socket is randomly given during mobs drops and produce weapon. Later u can add more socket using skycharm.
- Socket, appear to be in a bracket have maximum of 4 socket. E.g -->☆Item Name (1 Socket) +1.
- Star ☆ is quality of an item. For weapon, 2 stars has better damage than 1. Max is 3.
- For details of other attributes, read Newbie guide u/Fatz_Cat/1183
- At any time, you can remove the soulstone from equipment to free up socket space for other attributes.
Where to purchase soulstones?
- Look for Merchandiser in any City or town for soulstone Grade 1. Drop from monster too. Use Map pw-my/map
- You can synthesize Grade 1 soulstone with Synthesis NPC to increase the Grade (for higher level equipment).
- Grade 2 onward need to synthesize at any Synthesis NPC. Need 3 x Grade 1 to make 1 x Grade 2. Check table below.
- You will need 4 Grade 4 to achieve a Grade 5. However, Grade 5 can be purchase directly from Synthesis NPC.
- Again, however, Grade 5 onward ( Grade 6,7,8,9,10), no NPC selling that grade. You need to follow below formula.
- Some examples to exchange for higher grade soul stone:
Example: If you want to make a Grade 5, you need 4 x Grade 4. But you can buy directly from any Synthesis NPC in town.
Why Grade? Why dont just 1 Grade?
This is how the game works. If you are not sure what grade you need, mouseover equipment and look for Grade Rank. Example:
Soulstones
Ok, with the soulstones above, bring it to intended NPC. Let say weapon to blacksmith, armor to Tailor and Jewelery to Jeweler. Click them and choose Soulstone Syncretizing. Remember, if you only have 1 socket, you CANT synthesize 2 soulstone into it. It will produce error message. If you meet the minimum requirement on below table, you item will produce shinning and glowing effect.
Removing Soulstone from equipment / item.
You probably need to remove this if you want other kind of attributes like suddenly you change mind to have more HP but all the socket are all used up. So you need to purify it at the intended npc too. Choose "Equipment Purify".

Before I start, I posted this here since Spirit asked me to.
If this guide is out of place, feel free to move it to the right section.
First, Let's talk about character creation, which is very simple.
1. You will have to choose a race and a class. Now let me explain races and classes.
a. Humans:
Humans don't really have anything special about them, but they still have advantages. As a human, you can be either a warrior or a mage.
--1. Warrior:
The humans' melee class. You can choose from over 13 kinds of weapons. Your build can range between 3 stats: Str,Agi, and Cons.
--2. Mage: The class that deals the most damage in the whole game. But still, you will lack defense and HP. Put most of your stat points into Int, I would put some Cons too for HP. You can use all magical instruments as a mage.
b. Beasts:
As a beast, you will be able to transform into either a White Tiger, or a Fox. The classes are:
--1. Werebeasts(Male ONLY): The beast tanks. You can wield 4 weapons, the heavy ones. Hammers, Axes, Dual hammers and Dual axes. Can transform into a White tiger.
--2. Werefoxes(Female ONLY): I don't have much info on this race but you can tame monsters and have them as pets. You can transform into a Fox. You are basically a mage, but you won't have skills as strong as the human mage's skills. Can use all magic instruments.
c. Elves:
As an elf, you get to fly since the begining of the game. Other than that, they are just like humans except for a few things.
--1. Elf Archers: I have no idea about this class, but you can use Bows, Crossbows and Slingshots.

Now let's move on. In the character creation screen, you will have SO many options. So try to create a beautiful character.
Let's say you are in-game now. First thing you do is talk to the NPC near you, should be called "Quest Guide" or something.
After you finish the first quest, you will eventually find yourself doing the rest of the quests.
Now since I got you through the begining, it's time to learn how to use the many systems and tools in the game.
1-- The Quest Search system:
This will simply tell you which NPCs have quests for you. This is essential for finding quests later on in the game.
It's really simple, here are the 2 steps you have to do.
1. Open up the Quest Window. (The icon marked or by pressing Q)
2. Click on "Search Mission".
If you nothing happens when you click the button, that means you don't have any quests.
But if you do have a quest, It will tell you the name of the NPC and where to find it. As in this screenshot:
Alright, so now you know where you want to go, in numbers that is.
Now those numbers are called Coordinators, Coords for short. Coords change when you move, basically, every spot in perfect world has its coords.
Now, using Coords, you will be able to find places more easily.
For example, when you Search Mission and find an NPC you need to go to. This is what you do, using the Map Marking system.
2--Map Marking system:
It's easy, you just open up the window like this..
This is an explanation of everything in the window:
So, if for example you're looking for the elder, double click him when you're inside the village he's in. His mark will be on your map, so you can follow it. (Also, you can follow the Blue arrow on your screen).
This is how the mark looks on the map:
So let's say you found something and you want to save its location, this is what you do.
You just open up the window. The coords of the place you're in should already be there. So just click on the green arrow button, then choose a name for it.
Well, I believe you get the idea now.
Now let's talk about the Production skills.
They are Passive skills you get at Level 5 by doing certain quests. (From the Elder).
Let's say you have the Blacksmith skill. Now what do you need to start making weapons?
You need ingredients. And they're a real pain in the ass to get. For example, you need iron, how can you get it?
You got 2 ways. If you're rich and don't care about your money, buy the ingredients from other players.
The second way, the original, requires you to have a Shovel.
You can buy a Shovel from any Merchandiser in any town. What's that? You don't know where he is? Use your Map Marking system to find him.
Oh, also note that the Shovel costs 2 mighty thousand gold, but it stays with you till the end of the game (unless you throw it away).
Now run out of town and look for the ingredients you need. You will see rocks of iron lying around, some nectar... Basically, everything is at random places so... Good luck finding them! :)
That's about it for now. I think I will update this later again though.

Classes
1. Elf Archer
Also known as EA in short. Born to be in Wing Elves race are the only race that has the ability to fly at level 1. The wings that they use to fly do not make them move any faster than running speed however, so it is best used when trying to run from monsters. Though beware, there are monsters in the skies. Wing elves can be two classes, an Elf Archer and an Elf Priest.
Elf Archers are a ranged dps class. They mainly use bows and arrows. They have the longest range to attack monsters of any class. They have a very high crit %, and can usually kill mobs in a few hits. They can also deal physical and magical damage, depending on the attack you use. They are a decent class for pvp or pk. The bad things about an Elf Archer are that they have low HP, low physical defense, but decent magic defense. They must pay for their ammo, though some ammo does drop from monsters. Also, the damage they do is reduced if the monsters are within 5.00 m of them, or when flying in the air. The Major skills that they will need are Agi and Con, and Str for wearing armor.
Pros:
High agility
Can hit from a good distance.
High chance of getting a Critical hit
Does fast decent patk
Buff to lower damage taken.
Good at pvp/pkp if played correctly.
Cons:
Low Pdef
Expensive (need arrows, and potions as well as good gear)
Damage to enemies is lower whilst fighting in air
Runs out of ammo in a dungeon = uh oh

Their main stats are Int and Con, and they need enough Str to wear armor, and they use magic weapons and deal magic damage.
Pros :
Able to heal them self and party members,
Fast flying speed.
Manna doesn't go down whilst flying.
Able to buff.
Needed for dungeons and parties.
Able to res. (resing here means you lose less exp than you would if you revived in town)
Cons :
Low pdef defence
Low HP
Die fast from patk's

3. WereBeast
Untamed (called Beastkind in the original PW) are half beast, half humanoids. They are the only race that can transform into an animal, and what animal you transform into depends on the class that you choose. There are two classes, WereBeast (Male) and WereFox (Female). Only males can be Werebeasts and only females can be Werefoxes.
Werebeasts are the main tanks of the game. They have the highest hp and physical defense in the game. They deal physical damage in melee combat. Werebeasts can transform into a white tiger with flaming feet to enhance their hp and physical defense, and also increase their run speed by 20%, but at the cost of losing attack power. So their humanoid form is mostly for dps, and their tiger form is mostly for tanking. Since they are the main tanks in the game, they are always wanted in a party. The disadvantage of a werebeast is that they have low magic defense, their attack speed can be quite slow, and they do not have as much damage as magic dealers. Their main stats are Str and Con, and they need Agi to wear their armor.
Pros :
REALLY high HP
High HP Recovery rate.
Great Tanker (best tanker in game)
Good pdef
Transforms into white tiger form, gives more HP and Pdef.
Fast runner in white tiger form
Agro taking skills.

Cons :
Slow atk speed.
Low atk damage.
Low mdef.
always asked to be tank. xD (thats why you should add con quite often Though thats the main purpose of BB tank and ou get to do some great fb's later on ^^)

4. WereFox
Werefoxes are the only class that can tame pets and summon fighting pets. They are also the only class that can create vanity pets (non-combat pets) for other players to have. They can either do range magic damage, or melee damage. Werefoxes can transform into a fox, and this transformation is mostly for melee combat, though it does not do as much damage as humanoid form, which is primarily for ranged magic damage. They are an excellent solo class, and their pets are wonderful at tanking for them. The combination of you and your pet doing damage makes them good damage dealers. It is also a good class to do pvp or pk with. The disadvantage is that they have low hp and low physical defense, so they cannot take too many hits if their pet dies. If you want to be a caster werefox, your main stats will be Int and Con, with enough Str to wear armor. If you want to be a melee werefox in fox form, your main stats are Str, Con, with enough Int to wear armor and cast the few melee spells.
Pros :
Best for solo playing.
Cheap chars to play.
Have their own personal tank (The pet)
Able to harvest eggs at a higher level and sell to NPC.
Can catch rare pets and turn them into all class pets to make good $$ *chaching sound here)
Able to lure mobs, by attacking one mob and dismising the pet then only one mob will come to you then you re summon the pet.
Cons :
If attacked whilst fighting can lead to disaster, you can either run or heal pet.
If you accidentally lure the boss in a dungeon you will not be looked at to come as often.
You aren't needed majorly in dungeons just to lure and deal a certain amount of damage.
People will expect you to know the rare pet spawning times.
Can only play as female.

Warriors are the main melee dps in the game. They have a good amount of physical defense and attack power, and hp. Their attacks are pretty fast and they are good for pvp and pk. In the air however, it can be a bit difficult for them to attack. Their disadvantage is that they have low magic defense. Their main stats are Str and Con with enough Agi to wear armor. Also, they can pretty much use any weapon in the game, except magic weapons.
Pros :
Good pvp/pkers.
Good pdef.
Good melee attacks
able to stun at later.
Cons :
Low Magic defense.
Often looked as a lesser tank than a BB (Barbarian)
Quite slow in air.
Slowness in air and melee make for hard pvp/pk

6. Human Magician
Wizards (Mages) are the main ranged magic dps in the game. They use magic weapons and cast very strong spells. They have low hp and physical defense however and most of their spells take a long time to cast. This makes it a bit hard for pvp. At low levels it does not seem that they do any more damage than a werefox, though at higher levels they do massive amounts of damage, though their spells take a lot of mana to cast. Their main stats are Int and Con, and enough Str to wear armor.
Pros :
High skill matk
Can heal. (slow)
Has best mdef.
Uses elemental shields to protect from certain elements. (water, earth, fire)
Good to sneak attack low mdef enemies in pk. (sneaky face)
Cons :
Low HP throughout, very Low when first start.
Die fast from patk mobs.
Lose to EP easy
Slow casting.

3. WereBeast
Untamed (called Beastkind in the original PW) are half beast, half humanoids. They are the only race that can transform into an animal, and what animal you transform into depends on the class that you choose. There are two classes, WereBeast (Male) and WereFox (Female). Only males can be Werebeasts and only females can be Werefoxes.
Werebeasts are the main tanks of the game. They have the highest hp and physical defense in the game. They deal physical damage in melee combat. Werebeasts can transform into a white tiger with flaming feet to enhance their hp and physical defense, and also increase their run speed by 20%, but at the cost of losing attack power. So their humanoid form is mostly for dps, and their tiger form is mostly for tanking. Since they are the main tanks in the game, they are always wanted in a party. The disadvantage of a werebeast is that they have low magic defense, their attack speed can be quite slow, and they do not have as much damage as magic dealers. Their main stats are Str and Con, and they need Agi to wear their armor.

4. WereFox
Werefoxes are the only class that can tame pets and summon fighting pets. They are also the only class that can create vanity pets (non-combat pets) for other players to have. They can either do range magic damage, or melee damage. Werefoxes can transform into a fox, and this transformation is mostly for melee combat, though it does not do as much damage as humanoid form, which is primarily for ranged magic damage. They are an excellent solo class, and their pets are wonderful at tanking for them. The combination of you and your pet doing damage makes them good damage dealers. It is also a good class to do pvp or pk with. The disadvantage is that they have low hp and low physical defense, so they cannot take too many hits if their pet dies. If you want to be a caster werefox, your main stats will be Int and Con, with enough Str to wear armor. If you want to be a melee werefox in fox form, your main stats are Str, Con, with enough Int to wear armor and cast the few melee spells.
Pros :
Best for solo playing.
Cheap chars to play.
Have their own personal tank (The pet)
Able to harvest eggs at a higher level and sell to NPC.
Can catch rare pets and turn them into all class pets to make good $$ *chaching sound here)
Able to lure mobs, by attacking one mob and dismising the pet then only one mob will come to you then you re summon the pet.
Cons :
If attacked whilst fighting can lead to disaster, you can either run or heal pet.
If you accidentally lure the boss in a dungeon you will not be looked at to come as often.
You aren't needed majorly in dungeons just to lure and deal a certain amount of damage.
People will expect you to know the rare pet spawning times.
Can only play as female.

5. Human Warrior
Humans are human, just like us ! They fly around on giant swords and can be two classes, Blademaster (Warrior) and Wizard. (Mage)
Warriors are the main melee dps in the game. They have a good amount of physical defense and attack power, and hp. Their attacks are pretty fast and they are good for pvp and pk. In the air however, it can be a bit difficult for them to attack. Their disadvantage is that they have low magic defense. Their main stats are Str and Con with enough Agi to wear armor. Also, they can pretty much use any weapon in the game, except magic weapons.
Pros :
Good pvp/pkers.
Good pdef.
Good melee attacks
able to stun at later.
Cons :
Low Magic defense.
Often looked as a lesser tank than a BB (Barbarian)
Quite slow in air.
Slowness in air and melee make for hard pvp/pk

6. Human Magician
Wizards (Mages) are the main ranged magic dps in the game. They use magic weapons and cast very strong spells. They have low hp and physical defense however and most of their spells take a long time to cast. This makes it a bit hard for pvp. At low levels it does not seem that they do any more damage than a werefox, though at higher levels they do massive amounts of damage, though their spells take a lot of mana to cast. Their main stats are Int and Con, and enough Str to wear armor.
Pros :
High skill matk
Can heal. (slow)
Has best mdef.
Uses elemental shields to protect from certain elements. (water, earth, fire)
Good to sneak attack low mdef enemies in pk. (sneaky face)
Cons :
Low HP throughout, very Low when first start.
Die fast from patk mobs.

1. I'm new. How do i download Perfect World game?
Playing Perfect World MY EN has never been so easy before. Mouseover top menu for "Download" and click Full Client or click pw-my/download. Choose Lite or Full version and download automatically determine the fastest mirror for you (US or Asia). We've just added a lite version installer.
Lite version
- File name PWMYEN-1.59-Setup(Lite)
- Newbie friendly. Download only one setup file.
- Automatically download updates from the fastest mirror. (Update file from pw-my/downloadother)
- Start-up file size 808mb.
FULL version
- File name PWMYEN-1.59-Setup(FULL)
- Must download all parts below:
1. PWMYEN-1.xx-Setup(FULL).exe
2. PWMYEN-1.xx-Setup(FULL)-1.bin
3. PWMYEN-1.xx-Setup(FULL)-2.bin
- Then double click on the first file (.exe). Make sure you have all three parts before start the installation.
2. First time I launch the client, it just give me black screen.
Highly Recommended to open in windowed mode for first time user. Some antivirus permission might not visible during full screen mode. To use windowed mode, start Launcher --> Display ---> tick Windowed Resolution --> Confirm
After everything went smooth in your first day, then switch to full screen mode.
2. Why i download a setup file and it download updates during installation?
Lite version is a trimmed version installer and certain big files has been excluded earlier. User still need to download all the files & updates. You can also manually download individual file here pw-my/downloadother. A sample of the problem should look like this:

Happen to full version only. Because one of the part is missing or is not in the same folder with the *.exe file. Warning should look like this.
4. Do I need to download all the package listed in Download page?
Download either a single Lite version setup file or 3 part of FULL version.
7. How do i know which is Lite or FULL version?
Lite version as explained earlier above, ended with (Lite). It's our latest setup installer. Easy to use.
FULL version in the other hand, ended with (FULL). You need the other 2 more parts (FULL)-1 and (FULL)-2 to start install.
5. So what is Client with Part 1 and Part 2?
We split the client into 3 small file so those with slower connection can enjoy the game rather than worry the corrupted possibility of a big chunk file after numbers of resume. Besides, setup can't compile into 1 single file.
6. So if I download all 3 small files, how do i combine it later?
You just leave 3 files together and double click on the .exe file.
7. why the .BIN files appear to be movie/audio to me? Should i proceed install?
Apparently, you've made the pc to recognize .BIN as default movie player for certain software. Possible software are like Windows Media Player, VLC, Real Player, Winamp and many more. It doesn't matter to the setup file. Just click on the file with extension *.EXE. The other 2 files appear to be like movie ended with *.BIN.
8. Do your download support resume?
Yes, we support resume and all you need to do is use any download manager that support resume function and you are about to enter Perfect World.
9. Downloaded files are corrupted!
We have spitted the file into 3 parts. But that not going to guarantee 100% everything fine. File corrupted usually caused by resume too many times or sudden shut down of download manager & etc. We perform file scanning and checking download files often to ensure files are safe and free from corruption.
10. Exceeded available bandwidth. Did I just ruined the server?
If you still can view other page means everything is fine and working great. You get such message if you try to download two files at the same time. Try to wait the first one to complete before you download second file.
11. Do I need to download patch?
Depend on your client version. If your version need to patch, it will pop up a message asking for patch.
12. How to install a patch?
Unzipped/unrared a file using WinRar or WinZip software to Desktop (wherever you confort with). Then double click on Perfect World Launch and press Update button. You are now need to browse Desktop and look for "PW-MYEN Patch XX-XX.cup". Click open and let it update. In the end you might need to restart launcher and done!. REMEMBER to extract the file before update because Launcher cant read ZIP file. So you need to unzip it (with .cup extension)
13. I don't know which patch is for my client?
You don't need to worry. After full installation, start the launcher and it will show Auto Update and update automatically just like below screenshot.
If the patch take forever to update, you can download manual patch here. NOTE: Your next patch update will ALWAYS start with your current version. Example below screenshot show my client version 13, so I need to download PW-MYEN Patch 13-16.cup. See my next patch download is Patch 13-16. That's mean I am updating my client from 13 to 16. Another example if your version is 20, so you need to look for Patch 20 - XX. Clear?
a) Check your client version (highlighted in red) and download a higher patch version available here.
b) Once you have latest patch in hand and extracted into Desktop, click Update and find the file (with .cup extension) and click open. My example version is version 13, so next patch MUST start same as my version and i picked patch13-16 as lighlighted below. So if your client show version 20, you need to find patch starting with patch 20 - XX (following by two digits).
c) Once complete you will saw this screenshot. Update all the patch up to latest release.
d) Check your version and it is now Version 16! Continue to patch till latest release patch available.
16. It said corrupted during update just like below screenshot. What is happening?
We face such problem too sometimes when update patch. All you need to do is retry and it will solve for second time. If problem persist, download a fresh patch again.
17. I saw this error "The patch version update was lower than current version of client" when I update my client.
This is obvious that you are trying to update (should we say downgrade) an OLDER patch version into your client. Check your client version at Launcher before download a manual patch. Here is a screenshot for such error.
18. What is "Update version incorrect latest". You speaking English?
You saw this message because your trying to skip a patch. That's mean if your client is version 21 and you are trying patch 22-23, you are sure 100% getting this error. Try to find patch 21 - XX.
19. I play other version of Perfect World. Can I use?
If you download from pwmy, then it is for Perfect World MY-EN http://www.perfectworld.com.my.
20. I got an account here and just can't login into game?

Flying Aviation and How to Use (newbie)
In Perfect World, you can fly up to 70 miles above the ground. All class after level 30 can fly. Except Winged Elf can start fly immediately at level 1 (slow though).

to begin fly.
To fly faster, click on
icon to fly faster. Note that you must have fuel to fly faster. Depend on your aviation/flying tools, you might have something like xxx/300, xxx/600 or xxx/900. xxx is the remaining fuel you can fly fast. 1 fuel per second. E.g, If you have 324/600, mean your aviation can store up to 600 fuels (fly fast for 600 seconds) and you got 324 remaining fuel.

You can recharged aviation/flying tools by dispose unwanted equipment to designated NPC. E.g, Weapon to Blacksmith, Armor to Tailor etc etc. By dispose mean click on "Weapon Disassemble" or "Armor Disassemble". You will get a fuel after you dispose an equipment. Drag fuel to the aviation to recharge.
